Amir Cup 2024 Preliminary Round Kicks off Friday

Doha, April 25 (QNA) - The 52nd edition of the Amir Cup 2024 Preliminary Round will kick off Friday withe the participation of eight second-division teams, competing for four places in the Round of 16.
The matches will be held on Friday and Saturday, with two matches each day, at Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium, Grand Hamad Stadium and Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
The current season witnesses the introduction of a new system with the participation of all second-division teams in the Preliminary Round. Previously, the system allowed the top three teams in the second-division league to directly qualify for the Round of 16, while the fourth and fifth-placed teams would compete in a Preliminary Round to complete the lineup of participating teams.
